We all love to travel, it doesn't matter where we go. We just want to have fun and have interesting experiences. Whether it's national or international we are always eager to know new places and people.

Part 1: What do you think about this creative way to give the safety instructions on a plane. Would you like to travel in an airplane like this? 

Part 2: Write about the things you usually do before you travel and write a short experience of one of your trips.

Personality....


We've been talking a lot about the different types of personalities and now it's time to practice a little bit more.

I find myself very creative and optimistic; although, sometimes I am a little bit lazy and stubborn.

Watch this short video about an interesting story of a girl who is trying to choose the best date for her. 

Part 1: What do you think about the video? Did she choose wisely? 

Part 2: Write about your personality. What are you like? Consider the positive and negative ones and give reasons for your choices.

Part 3: Write a short personal story about a date experience. What was he/she like? Were you soul mates or did you have opposite personalities?

Have you seen all the kind of advertising displayed in the city? Sometimes it's just too much. 

Last summer my family and I went to the popular south beaches and guess what we saw on our way there, a lot of billboards with different kind of advertising. I was worried my father could crash just because we were so attracted by them.

Well, today's activity is rather simple and interactive. Just follow the next steps.

1- Go to the following page and read about advertising.

3- Post also here 3 sentences with the new vocabulary words you learnt.

Personality Adjectives

Personality adjectives....

Are adjectives that we use to describe a person and their character or personality. Everybody is an individual so we all have different personalities. One of us may be kind and like to help other people. Another person may be lazy and prefer to sleep rather than work.

Personality adjectives answer the question: "What is he like?"

Look at these example sentences using the personality adjective "polite":

• John is polite. John seems polite.
• John has a polite character.
• He is a polite person. I like polite men.
• I wish you were as polite as John. If you were more polite I might marry you.

Personality adjectives can be roughly divided into "good" and "bad" or positive and negative, as listed on the following pages:

Activity 2 - Basic 12 (B12): Restaurants comparison

Restaurants...


Whether you go to a fancy restaurant or a fast food one, there's always something we complain about. We also like to compare the restaurants we've gone and we definitely don't go back to the restaurants we felt uncomfortable or the ones with the worst food or service.

I always try new things and that is why I usually go to different restaurants in the city, some of them are really good and some of them are not. Some local restaurants are as good as some five forks restaurants but some fast food restaurants are not as reliable as some other restaurants.

Today's activity is pretty simple:

1- Choose 3 restaurants you have gone to.

2- In a piece of paper write down some characteristics about each restaurant like: price, service, food, place, etc.

3- Post here your experience with these restaurants and try to compare the three of them using adjectives, adverbs and as....as.

ALP - Projects help - Basic 4 (B04)

Basic 4 - ALP - November 2012.....

Hello guys this post is for you to share your ideas and to ask for help about your projects.

Remember that your ALP consists on the following:

- Groups: Groups of 3 and only 1 group of 4.

- Topic: "Looking for a nice place to live"

- Activity: One student is the real estate agent and the other 2 students are friends who are looking for a nice apartment or house to share. The agent will show different houses or apartments and the 2 friends will ask questions about those places. Organize your ideas and create a very nice role play. Don't forget to present extra materials like: a PPT, pictures, posters, realia, etc.

Future Technology.......

Can you imagine an easier lifestyle than today's life? How fast can technology develop "impossible" dreams? Can you imagine how life would be within 10 or 20 years?.

We know technology is all around us and there's always something new and better every year, but how far can we go?. Watch the following clips about our future and then comment what you think about these videos. Is that kind of technology even possible? Would you like to live in a world like that? Would you like to have that modern cell phone? What are some of the advantages and disadvantages of having that kind of technology available for everyone?.

Technology.....

It's everywhere we see, at institutes, universities, supermarkets, malls, restaurants and more. People or most of people around the world can not live without any kind of technology. We depend, sometimes too much, on all the benefits a piece of technology offers to the world, specially what we call: "Smartphones". They are everywhere and now it's easy to get one of these modern cell phones. They seem to help people a lot, but is that completely true?.

The first activity consists on writing a comment about your thoughts about Smartphones. Do you own one? What do you like and don't like about these modern cell phones? Post here your opinion in no less than 2 paragraphs.

Welcome everybody!!

Hi guys and welcome to our brand new project: "STT defeats TTT". I hope you remember what those acronyms stand for and if not, you can always ask your classmates. Well, as I mentioned in class this is an online interactive project that I'm doing for the first time with you, hopefully it will be a total success so that I can use it for future classes as well. I want to thank all of you for participating in this new project and I want you to know that this is a safe place where you can always come and ask any questions you may have. Let's take a look of what we might do here:

- First and overall this is a site for learning purposes, we will discuss everything related to our classes and more.

- We can also discuss about interesting and modern topics.

- We can generate some ideas for useful and productive ALPs.

- Feel free to post any kind of questions, your classmates and I will try to answer and help you as much as we can.

- If you find something interesting and useful, come and share it with everybody. Remember: "Sharing is Caring"

Having said that, I just hope you guys learn, participate and have fun here in your site. The first activity will be posted soon.
