Activity 1 - Intermediate 3 (I03) 6:45 pm class: Feeling sick again??

Being sick :(

It happens to all of us, it's something we can not avoid. Feeling sick is just part of our nature, sometimes it's something mild but sometimes it's severe. We all have to be careful and take care of ourselves.

Try not to drink to many cold drinks in the summer and try not to wear summer clothing in the winter, these are just two of the many advice we usually receive to avoid getting sick.

Activity:

Go to the following webpage and read the article about being sick, complete the activities and post here your thoughts about the article, did you like it?. Also write 3 sentences with the new vocabulary learnt and finally write about one of your own experiences about being sick.

well the article was interesting because it's truth when oneself is sick all our family are good with us. they treat us good and we don't do nothing in home but that's only until we heal.
sometimes when I am sick I feel like a crushed potatoe. aslo when I am sick my face looks ghostly and my eyes sink. I think that when we are sick we are prone to contract another illness milder or more severe. some people think they know everything above all when they're sick. they aren't gonna doctor and they self-medicate without thinking about consequences of their actions.
I remember when I was in high school , I was bad of the throat and also I had a flu. my mom took me to the doctor but I didn't want to go because I felt fine but the doctor's words suprised me. he told me that I shouldn't go at school because I was very sick and my state was worrying . I said him: 'but I feel fine' . however he said that I apparently was ok but my lungs doesn't. my lungs were covered with phlegm and if I altered me too , it could cause sudden fainting. well, it was an excuse not to go to school although I felt fine, I stayed in home for a long week without going out anywhere .

    1. That's interesting Silvana and yes, we have to be careful. If you feel sick you have to go to the doctor. What an interesting story about being sick but not feeling sick at all.

      Nice job.

hahaha , well , what do i think about? well the first one thing that i'd like to comment is that it's truth , illness does not distinguish of race , creed , economic status or what ever , but this last one could be related with social condicion , for example... people who can start their morning taking healthy and nutritious breakfast it's unlikely that they acquire some illness such as hepatitis , pneumonia and tuberculosis and it's closely related with the social economic, in peru almost 60 % of people often take a breakfast with coffe or tea , some of them with bread and butter, so can somebody tell me why do they do that? , it's simple , alot of people don't know and the other ones makes enough money to pay their bills and once in a while a bottle of milk or something nutritive , this is a social reality around our country and while we stay thinking feeds aren't a priority to avoid illness , we'll stay like underdeveloped.
ok i want to stop to renege hahahah , so i'd like to share with you when i was 16 years old my cousins were sick of varicella , therefore some weeks later i was sick too my face was very ugly hahaha with alot of boils, luckly i take alot of pills and din't leave a mark on my face hehehe.
besides that i've never had an important illness like that just the most common like cough and flu that come to me almost every 2 years and stay me at home for 2 weeks and makes me believe that i'm going to die hahahaah , my lungs ,leg , face even my hair hurts , despite to take pills like an insane man , althought alot of orange juice or what ever , i always think that this will be the end of my life hahaha.

Ow it is a nice article...well i hate been sick because i'm an energetic person and i can't stay quiet or all the day in my bed but when i'm sick my mother take care of me and she stay all the day and all the night at my service she bring me my pills,my food, water or fruit because when i'm sick i don't know why but always i want to eat fruits (i know that's kind of weird) Also my sister is at my service too buajajajaja. And my daddy is very accommodating he always buy me chocolates when i'm sick(because i love the chocolate) but like i'm sick i can't go out with my friends and that's the reason i hate been sick i love spend time with my friends cause they're so funny!
One day i had i was drinking and drinking and the next day i felt bad i was frowing up and with a terrible headache and my mother say to me: You have alcoholic poisoning!!!
Sometimes i can't sleep well and the next day i wake up and go to the work and my friends say to me: Why the ghostly face? and i : ¬¬ i couldn't sleep! I love my job because it's near to the food yard so if i feel like ceviche or pizza i can found it too near.
Mmmm an experience when i sick well when i was 11 years old i had an asma attack and it was horrible i couldn't breathe and i went to the doctor and the doctor put me something like a mask connected to a machine and after that i could breathe but was horrible i felt die :(

It’s an interesting article because it reminds us when I was sick. In the past, I remember when I had a terrible the cold my grandma made me a bowl of chicken soup and took care of me until I felt better. Also she told me a story and brought a cup of tea with lemon. What a wonderful moment!
One day I went to the restaurant with my family and after the dinner my brother got food poisoning ,we were very worried because his face was so ghostly and he lost weight, my little sister gave her stuffed bear to make him company and soon he was healthy.
Although I like the company of my dear I prefer to avoid being sick, it’s terrible to stay at home and can’t do anything because I feel weak and exhausted.

    1. That is true, being sick is so boring and you feel useless. I hate being sick too but sometimes our bodies just can't take it anymore.

      Good job Jacqueline.

  5. my opinion is about with the babies, we should be extremely careful with the babies
because they can sick easily, we can not know what are happen with them, because they can not say us
anything, onlu they can cry and cry.

when appear any symptoms the parents must carry inmediately to the doctor , this way we can save
of any kidd of illness to the babies .
the illness does not tolerate to anyone, but, we can avoid.
the question is. how we can avoid the illness?.
there are a lot of forms , for example some of them I can mention you should take shower every day, i can share my experience that I had, when I traveled to Equitos fou year ago, when I ged there , I wanted to take to shower, but unfortunately, was not water , for two days I swated too,
I coul not stand the heat, my head started hurt, i felt nauseous, it was verry terribol experience for me
after two days the water arrived to my home , fynally, i showered and i started fell well on the other hund the people mus eat a lot.
vegetables and fruits , some of the peoples does not like to eat the fruits and they should clean their houses every day . after dinner must do the dishes inmediately so that flies do not come close .

    1. Yes, definitely we have to be careful with the babies. They are so fragile and small and I cant's stand the heat either, specially in summer. Be careful with the spelling of some words.

      Good job.

The article is interesting. I remember as a child and I used to get sick, my mom kept and given me what I wanted. But now is different, if I have a headache or cold me, I have to take care of myself, buy my pills and go to the doctor alone.
When I was in college always ate in restaurants and once I felt food poisoning. I had to go to the hospital because I was dizzy and vomiting.

The article is interesting and helps you think about the physical care that we have always to not get sick. I believe that family is important at this time when you are sick. I loved it.

I remember that in May 2012 I had surgery for an ulcer and was very serious. The doctor advised me not to eat fatty foods and relax a little. Rest for 15 days without going to work. I feel better now and try to take care of me forever.
